Lady is a gorgeous petite pupper, available through German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California. This wonderful organization has something called the Thulani Program, which focuses exclusively on senior dogs and those for whom it is hardest to find a home. The Grey Muzzle Organization is proud to have given Thulani several grants to help fund Lady’s care and the care of other senior dogs.
Vets believe Lady to be about 8 or 9 years old; she only weighs about 45 pounds, but has a TON of personality in her sweet, little body. Her tail is constantly wagging! She meets dogs easily and at present lives with two large German shepherds. She lived peacefully with cats in a previous foster home, as well.
Lady enjoys car rides, is house- and crate-trained and sleeps freely at night. She will use a doggie door and is very treat-motivated!
Lady has been in the Thulani program since November of 2016. She has a slow-growing thyroid tumor, is hard of hearing, and has stiff back legs that get shaky at times. In spite of her medical issues, she doesn’t appear to be in pain and gets around very well. She has plenty of energy and likes to spend time in the yard — in between power naps!
Lady is fine on her own during the day when her foster mom is at work. In the evenings she loves to hang out in the same room as her foster mom. She would love a home where her people are around more than they are gone.
Because Lady is part of the Thulani hospice program GSRNC, will provide palliative medical care support. This includes support for vaccinations and medications that are necessary for her well being or needed to keep her comfortable for the rest of her life.
Lady is available for adoption for California residents only. You can fill out an adoption application for Lady here.
